Duane Betts & Palmetto Motel

Duane Betts is no stranger to the stage. Taking after his father, Allman Brothers co-founder Dickey Betts, Duane started on the drums at age 12, then switched over to guitar. He hasn’t been able to put it down since. 

Duane cut his teeth in rock bands starting in the late 1990s. He played alongside his father in Dickey Betts & Great Southern, and also performed with groups Backbone69, Whitestarr, Dawes, and Jamtown, building an impressive career honoring Southern rock, blues, country, and roots music. In 2018, he co-founded the Allman Betts Band with Devon Allman to continue their fathers’ legacies. 

In 2023, Duane released his first full-length solo album, “Wild & Precious Life.” Filled with personal storytelling and songs shaped by his Florida roots, the album inspired Duane to bring its intimate sound to the stage. The result was Duane Betts & Palmetto Motel.

Duane followed up “Wild & Precious Life” with “Isle of Hope” in 2026. Backed by Palmetto Motel, the album expands on his deeply personal songwriting and pays tribute to his late father. He continues to honor his family’s Southern-rock tradition while paving a path of his own.
