Brasil '66 is the iconic, highly influential musical ensemble formed by Brazilian pianist and arranger Sérgio Mendes that played a pivotal role in globalizing bossa nova and samba during the late 1960s. Now, the Sergio Mendes Band keeps that sound alive with their iconic selection of songs delivered by a vocal sound that is both personal and pristine. The essential elements to their music are the infectious Brazilian rhythms — bossa nova, samba, batucada, and Afro-samba.

Sérgio Mendes introduced a signature crossover sound that blended infectious Brazilian rhythms with American jazz harmonies and contemporary pop melodies. The group rocketed to international stardom with their self-titled 1966 debut album, propelled by the global hit "Mas Que Nada"— the first entirely Portuguese-language track to break into the American Billboard top five.

Don’t miss the music that’s garnered global fans across generations.
