Jazz Appreciation for Older Adults

What is it you love about jazz? Learn the history, language, and traditions of the genre while connecting with others who share your interest.

Using performances presented by Omaha Performing Arts as a starting point, the class explores jazz fundamentals through guided listening, musical terminology, classic recordings, live demonstrations, call-and-response activities, and group participation. Participants discover how jazz works, what makes it unique, and how to listen more deeply.

No prior jazz or music experience is required. Whether you're a lifelong fan or simply curious to learn more, this class offers an engaging opportunity to connect with the music you enjoy and others who love it too. Caregivers are welcome to attend with participants.
