In the Market for Blues: BluesEd Youth Showcase

Saturday, August 1 • 2:00–5:30 PM
Mammel Hall • Tenaska Center for Arts Engagement

The blues has always been more than music. It is a tradition of resilience, storytelling, and connection that continues to bring people together across generations and communities.
Every summer, In the Market for Blues carries that tradition forward by bringing nationally acclaimed artists, local favorites, and emerging musicians together in the heart of downtown Omaha. Presented by the nonprofit Omaha Blues Society, the festival also celebrates BluesEd—one of the nation's most respected youth blues education programs.

This year's BluesEd Youth Showcase features student musicians performing as working bands under the guidance of professional musicians, bringing remarkable talent, energy, and authenticity to the stage.

2:00–3:30 PM: True Blue
4:00–5:30 PM: Blue Sunday

Whether you're discovering BluesEd for the first time or cheering on a favorite performer, this free afternoon concert offers an inspiring glimpse into the future of the blues.
